The Kano State Police Command has successfully apprehended a suspected kidnapper, Abubakar Musa, and rescued a two-year-old victim, Al’amin Ahmad Garba.

The arrest and rescue operation was disclosed by the command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, in a statement issued on Saturday, January 4, 2025.

According to the statement, the suspect, a 25-year-old resident of Rijiyar Lemo Quarters, Kano, allegedly abducted the toddler and demanded a ransom of fifty million naira (N50,000,000) for his release. The arrest was the result of a sustained follow-up and intelligence-led operation by the police.

“The suspect was arrested on December 25, 2024, following meticulous investigative efforts,” SP Kiyawa stated. “The victim was rescued from a house in Unguwar Liman, Dorayi Quarters, Kano, where he had been hidden for three days.
