Residents of Kajola in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State have been thrown into mourning following the alleged murder of a 28-year-old man, Ifeanyi Otu, by a suspected drug baron identified as Eze Amadi, popularly known as Lecturer.

The tragic incident occurred on Monday, August 25, 2025, at Adeyalo Street, Kajola. According to reports by the state-owned Hope Newspaper, Amadi allegedly tortured the victim to death before concealing his body inside a water drum under the cover of night.

Trouble reportedly began when the suspect attempted to dispose of the corpse using a motorcycle but was intercepted by vigilant residents. His arrest immediately sparked outrage and tension across the community.

Speaking with journalists, some residents expressed shock over the gruesome discovery.

“Nobody knows what transpired between them, but we do hear a crying person every night when being tortured,” one resident recounted.

The victim’s father, Mr. Michael Agwu Otu, described the death of his son as a devastating blow to the family.

“I was at home that fateful day when I received a call that my son’s body, wrapped with foam, had been discovered inside a water drum,” he said.
“When I got to the scene, I saw him lying lifeless after the drum was cut open. I was also told that the suspect was caught while trying to transport his body on a motorcycle. The entire community was furious and demanded his arrest.”

As of the time of filing this report, the Ondo State Police Command has yet to issue an official statement on the matter, but residents are demanding swift prosecution to restore confidence and peace in the community.
