…Herdsmen Strike Leaves One Injured, House Razed In Bauchi
A community in Benue State has been thrown into mourning after a man was killed by his own son during a late-night altercation over money.
The tragic incident occurred around 10 p.m. on Saturday in Nyamatsoo Mbagen, Buruku Local Government Area, when Ankyambe Tordue, allegedly armed with a machete, attacked his father, Ankyambe Hembaor, following a disagreement over a denied request for cash.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the injured father was rushed to Agbecha Hospital in Nyamatsoo for urgent medical attention but was later confirmed dead.

Police officers from the Buruku Division visited the scene, documented the incident and evacuated the body to the hospital mortuary. Security sources said the suspect fled immediately after the attack, and a manhunt is now underway.
The State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) has taken over the case and launched a full-scale investigation to track down the fleeing suspect and uncover the circumstances leading to the deadly confrontation.
In a separate attack, suspected Fulani herdsmen reportedly invaded Yelwan Ariri in Zaki Local Government Area of Bauchi State, injuring a resident and razing a house.

The assault occurred around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, with reports stating that the attackers—believed to be from Guri LGA of Jigawa State—shot Garba Yahaya with an arrow. Another resident, Abba Ibrahim, had his house set on fire during the incident.
Sources said the Deputy Chairman of Zaki LGA, Hon. Ibrahim Chiroma, immediately alerted the Zaki Divisional Police Station, prompting officers to mobilize to the scene. The swift response forced the attackers to flee the community.
Residents have called for urgent security reinforcement as tensions remain high in the area.
