Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir-Yusuf, has donated food items and 12 cows to inmates of Custodial Centres in the state to mark the Eid-il-Fitr celebrations.
This was revealed in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Kano Command, CSC Musbahu Kofar-Nasarawa, on Sunday in Kano.
According to the statement, the donation was made on behalf of the governor by the Chairperson of the Kano State Committee for the Prerogative of Mercy, Hajiya Azumi Namadi-Bebeji.
The donated items include bags of rice, vegetable oil, onions, and seasonings.

“This is in line with the administration’s commitment to the welfare of inmates and other vulnerable people in the state,” Namadi-Bebeji stated. She emphasized that the initiative is essential for effective custodial management, as well as the reformation and rehabilitation of inmates.
Namadi-Bebeji commended the state government for its continuous support and assistance to inmates, highlighting its dedication to their well-being.
Receiving the items on behalf of the inmates, Mr. Ado Inuwa, the Controller of NCoS, Kano Command, expressed gratitude to the state government for the thoughtful gesture.
He praised the government’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of inmates, noting that such acts of kindness provide them with a sense of belonging.
