Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, says President Bola Tinubu and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, are making concerted efforts to ensure the return of Siminalayi Fubara as governor of Rivers State.
Tompolo, who chairs Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited—a company contracted to curb oil theft across the Niger Delta—made the statement during an interview with Arise TV on Saturday.
Grassroots Parrot reports that his comments come amid an ongoing political crisis in Rivers State.
On March 18, President Tinubu declared a state of emergency in the state, suspending Governor Fubara, his deputy Ngozi Odu, and all members of the Rivers House of Assembly for six months.
Tinubu also appointed retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas as the state’s sole administrator. The move has sparked protests and public outcry, with many calling for a return to democratic order.
Tompolo expressed confidence that the situation is being resolved, assuring that Fubara will soon be reinstated.

“The duly elected governor of Rivers is coming back,” he said. “The problem between Wike and Fubara is between ‘boy and oga’. Our president has always protected democracy—he is not truncating it. Everyone is working on this, including the president and Wike. Fubara is coming back as governor.”
Reports suggest that Fubara met with President Tinubu in London in early April, reportedly at the governor’s request.
During the meeting, Fubara is believed to have offered concessions in a bid to peacefully resolve the political standoff.
