Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, is inaugurating an ad-hoc committee to legislate in place of the suspended Rivers State House of Assembly.
The ceremony, taking place at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja, features committee members selected from all six geo-political zones of Nigeria.
Addressing the 21-member committee, Speaker Abbas emphasized that their mandate is non-partisan, describing it as “a call to legislate to ensure good governance, peace, and prosperity of the oil-rich state.”
