Portable Drops ‘Spiderman’ Following Release from Police Custody

Controversial afrobeat singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has made a swift return to the studio following his recent release from police custody.

Portable, whose arrest made waves across social media platforms, took to Instagram on Thursday to tease fans with a snippet of his upcoming song titled “Spiderman.”

The release of “Spiderman” comes after Portable’s tumultuous encounter with law enforcement, stemming from his alleged default on payments for his G-Wagon SUV.

The song cleverly alludes to the singer’s agility, referencing his now-infamous evasion of arrest by jumping over a gate like a spiderman, an incident captured in a widely circulated video.

In the footage that surfaced earlier this week, Portable, sporting a distinctive white and black striped shirt, can be seen alongside a group of eight individuals as he scales the gate, making a daring escape from the authorities.

Following his dramatic escape attempt, Portable found himself in police custody for a period of 24 hours before meeting the bail conditions set for his release.

His initial refusal to comply with police invitations reportedly further fueled law enforcement’s determination to bring him to justice.

Adding to his legal troubles, Portable was also recently apprehended by police in Ogun State and subsequently arraigned on five counts, including allegations of assault and theft, at the Ifo Magistrates’ Court.

After a stint at the Ilaro Correctional Centre, he regained his freedom upon fulfilling the conditions of his bail.

Portable’s run-ins with the law have become something of a recurring theme in his career, with his outspoken persona and penchant for controversy often landing him in troubles.

Despite the legal challenges he currently faces, the singer appears undeterred as he channels his experiences into his music, leaving fans eagerly anticipating the release of “Spiderman” and curious to see what the future holds for the resilient artist.
