Fresh tragedy has again hit Plateau State as suspected gunmen reportedly killed at least 13 persons during a midnight attack on Ngbra Zongo community in Kwall District, Bassa Local Government Area.
The Friday early morning assault threw residents into panic, with several others sustaining injuries while trying to escape the violence.
Eyewitnesses said the attackers stormed the community around midnight, shooting sporadically before attacking residents with machetes and other dangerous weapons.
According to locals, the assailants moved from house to house, leaving behind destruction and fear.

A resident, Philip Alanga, said many villagers fled into nearby bushes for safety, while injured victims were rushed for medical attention.
Reacting to the incident, the Irigwe Development Association described the attack as tragic and condemnable, calling on security agencies to strengthen protection for vulnerable communities and bring the perpetrators to justice.
The latest attack comes days after another deadly assault in Nding Susut community of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, where five persons were killed and three others injured after gunmen reportedly opened fire on residents gathered outside their homes.
