The Kogi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended former Senator Dino Melaye for alleged anti-party activities and misconduct. The suspension was announced by the PDP executive committee of Ayetoro Gbede, Ward 1, following Melaye’s refusal to respond to a summons from the party.
The decision was reached during a meeting on Friday, where the Ward party executive committee reviewed the report of a disciplinary committee set up to investigate the former Kogi West senator’s alleged actions. The resolution to suspend Melaye was signed by the Ward Chairman, Abayomi Osamika, and Secretary Yodson Dayo.
The party’s resolution, as gathered by Grassroots Parrot stated, “Senator Dino Melaye’s conduct has brought embarrassment and disrepute to the party, and his continued membership is no longer tenable. Therefore, the Ward party exco hereby suspends Dino Melaye from the Peoples Democratic Party, effective immediately.”

The suspension, according to the PDP Ward executive, is in line with Article 59 (1) of the party’s constitution, which grants the Ward executive committee the authority to take disciplinary action against members found guilty of misconduct.
Melaye, a prominent figure in Kogi State politics, has not yet responded to the suspension at the time of this report. The suspension marks a significant development in the ongoing political dynamics within the PDP in Kogi State.
