The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum has resolved to reclaim leadership positions currently held by other political parties across Nigeria. This declaration was made by the Chairman of the Forum, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, during the opening of a crucial meeting held at the Government House in Enugu on Wednesday.

Governor Mohammed described the gathering as historic and ambitious, emphasizing their commitment to unifying the party and strategizing to provide credible alternatives to Nigerians.

“We are here today to unify ourselves, discuss pertinent issues affecting our party, and deliberate on various matters critical to our mission. Our agenda spans governance under various party administrations, inter-party affairs, upcoming congresses, and other essential strategies,” Governor Mohammed stated.

The meeting, attended by PDP governors and key party stakeholders, including the National Working Committee and various party organs, underscored the party’s determination to strengthen its structures and reclaim lost ground in state leadership.

Expressing concern over the current state of affairs at the national level, Governor Mohammed highlighted the urgency of preventing further deterioration into anarchy. He stressed the shared historical aspirations of the PDP for the nation and reaffirmed their commitment to providing effective leadership across all states.

“It is high time the party reclaimed its rightful leadership positions in states currently occupied by other parties,” Governor Mohammed asserted.

The meeting also commended Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State for hosting the forum and ensuring the comfort of all attendees since their arrival on Tuesday. Governors present at the meeting included Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Umo Eno (Akwa Ibom), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Godwin Obaseki (Edo), Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), Agbu Kefas (Taraba), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), Ahmed Fintiri (Adamawa), and Douye Diri (Bayelsa).

The forum concluded with a renewed commitment to effective governance, party cohesion, and the pursuit of national stability under the PDP’s leadership.
