In a dramatic showdown on Sunday night, Oleksandr Usyk clinched the undisputed heavyweight world championship title with a stirring second-half comeback against Tyson Fury.

The clash, which unfolded in the desert, marked a historic moment in boxing as Usyk emerged victorious by split decision, ending Fury’s reign and becoming the division’s first undisputed ruler in 25 years.

Initially, Fury dominated the early rounds of the fight with his trademark showmanship, clowning around in the ring and taunting Usyk.

However, the Ukrainian fighter showcased resilience and determination, mounting a comeback that culminated in a ninth-round surge where Fury was left staggering against the ropes, prompting the referee to issue a count.

Despite Fury’s efforts to regain momentum, Usyk’s relentless pursuit and calculated aggression kept the Brits on the defensive.

The matchup, which saw Fury enjoying significant physical advantages in weight and height, showcased Usyk’s tactical prowess as he closed the distance and landed significant blows, gradually wearing down his opponent.

Fury’s playful antics and Usyk’s unwavering focus captivated the audience of 28,000 fans, including fervent supporters of both fighters.

The presence of notable figures added to the spectacle, with Cristiano Ronaldo, Anthony Joshua, and boxing influencer Turki Alalshikh among the attendees.

As the final bell rang, the outcome hung in the balance, with neither fighter willing to relent. Despite Fury landing the last telling blow, it was Usyk who emerged victorious, securing his place in boxing history as the undisputed heavyweight champion, a title that had eluded the division for a quarter of a century.
