Former Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari, has expressed confidence in the quality of the workforce at the national oil company, declaring that NNPCL boasts the best-skilled personnel in the oil and gas industry.
Grassroots Parrot reports that Kyari made the remark on Friday during the official handover ceremony to his successor, Bayo Ojulari, at the company’s headquarters in Abuja.
The event marked the end of Kyari’s tenure as GCEO, during which he spearheaded major reforms, including the transition of NNPC into a limited liability company under the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA).
The outgoing GCEO praised Ojulari’s experience and leadership qualities, describing him as the right man to take the company to greater heights.

He went on to emphasize the quality of the company’s workforce, highlighting it as one of the key strengths that would support Ojulari’s success.
“We are inheriting a company that has extremely skilled workers of all class and an envy of most people in the industry today. I’m sure they will rally around you to succeed, including the senior management team members who are with us at this meeting,” he added.
In his response, Bayo Ojulari commended Kyari for his exceptional service and for laying a strong foundation for the continued transformation of NNPC Ltd. He pledged to build on the legacy of his predecessor and to drive the national oil company towards achieving its vision.
