The Kano State Hisbah Board has dismantled a site in the Dakata Industrial Area that had drawn large crowds following claims it contained the sacred footprint of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Grassroots Parrot reports that the site, which had recently been cleared for railway development, drew large crowds of Muslim faithful after a muddy imprint resembling a footprint appeared on the ground, with water seeping from the spot.
Rumors quickly spread that the site contained “holy water” and bore the footprint of the Prophet, prompting people to visit in search of spiritual healing and blessings.
In response, officials from the Hisbah Board, the state’s moral and religious enforcement agency, moved to cordon off the site and dismantle structures erected.

Confirming the development, Deputy Commander of the Kano Hisbah Board, Mujahideen Aminudeen, confirmed the board’s intervention, stating that the site had become a source of public disorder.
“This incident is entirely fabricated and dangerous,” he said. “We acted swiftly after receiving reports of mass gatherings and unverified spiritual claims. The Hisbah will not allow the spread of superstition or any activity that disrupts public peace.”
Aminudeen emphasized that the board’s action was taken to safeguard the public from exploitation and to uphold Islamic teachings based on verified knowledge and scholarship.
