Commander-General (CG) of the Kano State Hisbah Board, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, has announced that the board has allocated 50 slots to journalists and media workers in the upcoming batch of the state’s mass wedding program. This move aims to further integrate various professional groups and trade unions into the initiative.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Sheikh Daurawa highlighted the success of the previous mass wedding, which saw approximately 1,800 couples united in matrimony. He emphasized the board’s commitment to expanding the program’s reach by inviting interested members of the media to participate.

Daurawa also revealed plans to include legal practitioners and health workers in the next batch of the mass wedding exercise while he reiterated that the core objective of the program is to instill moral values in society and curb immorality among young individuals.
Grassroots Parrot reports that during a meeting with heads of Hisbah commands from the 44 local government areas of the state, Sheikh Daurawa urged personnel to re-dedicate themselves to their duties or consider resigning. He emphasized the importance of adhering to written guidelines provided by the Hisbah management, which outline their roles and responsibilities.

However, the Hisbah board has collaborated with various educational institutions, including Yusuf Maitama Sule University, Kano (YUMSUK), Aminu Kano College of Islamic Legal Studies, Sa’adatu Rimi University of Education, and the department of Islamic studies at Bayero University, Kano (BUK), to establish a Hisbah Academy, Daurawa stated.
