A Federal High Court sitting in Kano has sacked Prof. Sani Lawan Malumfashi as Chairman of the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC).

Justice Simon Amobeda gave the ruling on Tuesday, in a case filed by one Aminu Aliyu Tiga and All Progressive Congress (APC).

Grassroots Parrot reports that Justice Amobeda ruled that Malumfashi was disqualified for being a political party card-carrying member.

This comes in less than 72 hours into the local government elections, slated for October 26, 2024 across the 44 LGAs in the state.
