Dangote Refinery has raised the gantry price of petrol from N699 to N799 per litre, with MRS filling stations now selling at N839 per litre.
In a statement issued Monday evening, the refinery said the festive price support period had ended and prices were adjusted to “sustainable levels” to ensure long-term market stability and affordability.
It explained that the recent lower prices were part of a temporary intervention during the festive season to ease pressure on households, marking the second straight year the refinery had absorbed extra costs in the national interest. This included logistics support in 2024 and a price cut in 2025.
The company, however, noted that some filling stations failed to pass on the earlier price reduction to consumers.

Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Petroleum Refinery, David Bird, said the refinery continues to supply about 50 million litres of petrol daily, with distribution nationwide running smoothly. He added that the refinery’s flexible design allows it to process different crude types, ensuring steady supply even during maintenance.
The refinery said its local production helps protect Nigeria from import-related price shocks and external supply disruptions, while remaining committed to energy security and price stability.
