Hajj 2025: AHMSP Urges Stakeholders To Unite For Seamless Pilgrimage

The Association of Hajj Media Support Professionals (AHMSP) has called on all stakeholders in Nigeria’s Hajj industry to rally behind the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and work collaboratively to ensure a smooth and hitch-free Hajj 2025.

In a statement signed by the National Coordinator, Ibrahim Abubakar Nagarta, AHMSP emphasized the need for unity, support, and a spirit of service to Almighty Allah, warning that distractions or divisions at this critical stage could hinder progress.

“As preparations for the 2025 Hajj reach a crucial stage, this is a time for cooperation, not conflict. Hajj is a sacred duty, and all stakeholders must prioritize its success above personal or sectional interests,” the statement read.

AHMSP, a non-profit body of media professionals who monitor and report Hajj activities related to Nigerian pilgrims, expressed concern over recent negative media narratives and alleged sponsored attacks aimed at NAHCON.

The group urged for a more constructive engagement that supports the commission’s efforts rather than undermines them.

The association also commended NAHCON, under the leadership of Professor Abdullahi Usman Saleh, for significant strides made in the buildup to the 2025 pilgrimage. These include:

Prompt Disbursement of 2023 Refunds: NAHCON ensured that monies returned from Saudi Arabia for undelivered services in 2023 were promptly and transparently disbursed to affected pilgrims.

Reduction in Hajj Fare: Through strategic negotiations, the commission secured cost reductions on accommodation, transportation, feeding, and services at Masha’ir, defying earlier projections of fare hikes due to forex instability.

Support to Private Tour Operators: Despite financial constraints faced by some private Hajj operators, NAHCON took the initiative to secure accommodations for them ahead of the set deadline, ensuring no Nigerian pilgrim is left behind.

“Professor Saleh has demonstrated commendable leadership, transparency, and fear of Allah in managing Hajj affairs. These efforts deserve the appreciation and support of all stakeholders,” AHMSP stated.

With over 52,000 Nigerian pilgrims expected to participate in Hajj 2025, AHMSP called on tour operators, government agencies, religious leaders, and media platforms to align their efforts in service to pilgrims and the success of the sacred journey.

“We appeal to all parties to refrain from any action that could frustrate or delay the tremendous preparations already in motion. The goal is simple — a seamless and spiritually fulfilling Hajj for every Nigerian pilgrim.”
