Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has approved the reconstitution of Kano Pillars Football Club’s management board, naming Nigerian international and former Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa as the new general manager.
The appointment, announced in a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, marks a significant shift in the club’s leadership and signals the state government’s renewed commitment to elevating the performance of the iconic football team.
The reconstitution follows the expiration of the one-year tenure granted to the previous board, which led the club to a 9th-place finish in the 2024/2025 NPFL season.
After extensive consultations with key stakeholders, most members of the outgoing board were reappointed, with some strategic additions and changes designed to boost competitiveness.
