The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, along with his wife, Hafsat Ganduje, and six other individuals, are set to appear in court on Thursday over charges of alleged bribery, diversion, and misappropriation of funds.
This comes after the respondents were served a notice of trial through substituted means by order of the court.
The Kano State High Court issued the order on June 5, 2024, permitting the state to serve the seven respondents via substituted service.

This was subsequently carried out through advertisements in two national newspapers on June 6, 2024.
The respondents in this case include:
1. Abdullahi Ganduje (1st respondent)
2. Hafsat Ganduje (2nd respondent)
3. Abubakar Bawuro (3rd respondent)
4. Umar Abdullahi Umar (4th respondent)
5. Jibrilla Muhammad (5th respondent)
6. Safari Textiles Ltd (6th respondent)
7. Lesage General Enterprises (7th respondent)
Justice Amina Adamu, who is presiding over the case, granted the order following an application by Zahradeen Kofar-Mata, counsel for the state government, representing the lead prosecution counsel, Ya’u Adamu.

“This court grants the application for substituted service because it is necessary to ensure the respondents are duly notified of the proceedings,” stated Justice Adamu during the court session.
The matter has been adjourned until July 11, 2024, for hearing. All parties involved have been ordered to present their fiat to the court. The hearing is scheduled to commence at 10 a.m. at the Kano State High Court on Thursday.
