A critical meeting between the federal government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has commenced in Abuja as both parties seek to resolve ongoing issues and prevent another nationwide strike in public universities. The meeting is being held at the Conference Hall of the Federal Ministry of Education, with representatives from both sides in attendance.
ASUU’s delegation, led by its president, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, includes several former presidents of the union, including the immediate past president, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi. The union has recently threatened to down tools over the alleged failure of the federal government to meet its long-standing demands.
