The Federal Government has dispatched 20 trucks of rice to each of the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, in a bid to ease the economic burden on Nigerians.
This initiative was announced by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, following the Federal Executive Council meeting chaired by President Bola Tinubu at the Aso Rock Villa on Monday.

Idris revealed that each state has received 20 truckloads, each containing 1,200 bags of 25kg rice. These are intended for distribution to the most vulnerable individuals and families.
The Minister emphasized that this consignment represents the federal government’s initial step in providing support to all sub-national entities.
“The state governments are expected to distribute this rice to mitigate the current hardship faced by citizens,” Idris noted.

This measure is part of a broader effort by the federal government to address the economic challenges impacting Nigerians.
