Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II, the 16th Emir of Kano is currently holding Sallah durbar after leading Eid prayer and sermon at the Kofar Mata Jumu’at mosque.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and other cabinet members joined the Emir at the Kofar Mata Jumu’at mosque on Sunday morning to observe prayer with the monarch.
It was gathered that the Eid prayer was observed at the mosque as a result of the heavy rain that flooded the vicinity of the Eid ground along IBB way at midnight.
Though Kano Police command had announced a ban on Sallah durbar after a joint security meeting in the State, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf expressed dissatisfaction with the decision, faulting how the police arrived at such without consulting him as the Chief Security Officer of the State.
Meanwhile, the 15th Fulani Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero observed his Eid prayer at the Nasarawa mini palace as earlier announced.
