A prominent Nigerian statesman and leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark has passed away at the age of 97.
He died on Monday night, February 17, 2025, as confirmed by a statement from his family.
Clark’s political career was marked by significant contributions. He served as a member of an advisory committee to Military Governor David Ejoor of the Mid-Western Region in 1966.
Subsequently, he held the position of Federal Commissioner for Information in 1975. Beyond his governmental roles, Clark was a fervent advocate for the Niger Delta region, championing resource control and fiscal federalism.

His leadership extended to various organizations, including PANDEF, the South-South Peoples Assembly, and the Southern and Middle-Belt Leaders Forum (SMBLF).
The Clark-Fuludu Bekederemo family has expressed gratitude for the public’s prayers during this time and indicated that further details regarding his burial will be announced in due course.
