Don’t protest, Give Tinubu More Time – Oba Of Benin Appeals To Nigerians

The Oba of Benin, Oba Ewaure II, has urged Nigerian youths to cancel their planned protest scheduled for August 1, 2024.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Osaigbovo Iguobaro, the Benin monarch emphasized that improvements take time and appealed for patience with the current administration’s economic policies aimed at alleviating hardship.

“For things to get better, it has to be tough for a while,” Oba Ewaure II noted, urging Nigerians to give the government more time to implement its strategies.

The monarch also called on the federal government to intensify its efforts to execute economic and security policies.

The planned protest, proposed by some youths to last 10 days, aims to highlight the struggles faced by citizens and press both federal and state governments for action.

President Bola Tinubu has previously requested more time to achieve his plans for the country, which he believes will address these issues.

Oba Ewaure II’s appeal underscores a broader push for patience and support as the administration works through its policy agenda.
