The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has once again reduced the gantry price of petrol—cutting the ex-depot rate from ₦828 to ₦699 per litre.
According to real-time data from Petroleumprice.ng on Friday, the refinery implemented yet another downward adjustment, shaving off ₦129 per litre, representing a 15.58% price reduction in Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).
According to The Nation, source familiar with the decision confirmed: “The refinery reduced its petrol price to ₦699 per litre.”
The new pricing regime took effect on December 11, 2025, marking the 20th petrol price adjustment by the refinery this year alone, as it continues to fine-tune domestic pricing in response to production capacity and market forces.

The latest cut comes barely five days after refinery Chairman, Aliko Dangote, reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining “reasonable and competitive” fuel prices for the Nigerian market.
Despite global volatility and persistent fuel smuggling across borders, Dangote insisted that Nigerians would continue to benefit from local production.
Speaking after a closed-door meeting with President Bola Tinubu on December 6, he hinted at more reductions as the refinery ramps up output and intensifies competition with imported petroleum products.
As Nigerians anticipate further impact on pump prices nationwide, marketers are expected to respond to this development in the coming days.
