A cleaner in Maiduguri, Faiza Abdulkadir, who made headlines after returning N4.8 million mistakenly paid into her bank account, has once again been rewarded for her honesty.

On Monday, September 1, the President of Da’awah Wal Irshaad Women Organisation, Borno State, Aisha Muhammad Aisami, presented a cheque of N2.5 million to her in Maiduguri on behalf of a “good Samaritan” who insisted on remaining anonymous.

Aisami explained that the donor had read Faiza’s story online and contacted the organisation to trace her and reward her integrity.

Reacting, Faiza expressed gratitude to the donor and the Da’awah organisation for facilitating the support. She urged Nigerians to fear God and always uphold honesty.

“If you fear God, anything that doesn’t belong to you would not attract you. We should always prepare for eternal life hereafter, not to be deceived by the worldly gains that are temporary,” she said.

Faiza, who works as a cleaner at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital and earns N30,000 monthly, shoulders the responsibility of caring for her five children and aged mother.

Just last week, she also received a gift of N1 million, food items, and vocational skills equipment from the Borno State Government, presented by the state’s First Lady, Dr. Falmata Babagana Zulum.

Commending Faiza’s rare act of honesty, the state Commissioner for Women Affairs, Zuwaira Gambo, described her as a shining example of integrity despite her financial struggles.
