Comrade Mohammed Garba, Chief of Staff to former APC National Chairman and ex-Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has dismissed circulating rumours suggesting that the veteran politician is critically ill.
In an interview on Monday, Garba assured the public that Ganduje, 75, is in stable condition and not facing any life-threatening health issues. While acknowledging that the former governor might experience minor health concerns associated with aging, he emphasized that Ganduje remains strong and active.
“There is absolutely no cause for alarm,” Garba stated. “Dr. Ganduje is fine. If there were any serious concerns about his health, we would not hesitate to inform the public so that supporters could pray for him.”

Garba also clarified Ganduje’s recent absence from the public eye, explaining that the former governor has been in London since the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari. He noted that this was the reason Ganduje did not attend Buhari’s funeral, fueling speculation about his well-being.
A family source, speaking on condition of anonymity, corroborated Garba’s remarks, affirming that there is no truth to the rumours. “We’ve spoken with those close to him. He is doing well,” the source said.
Public concern over Ganduje’s health spiked following his recent resignation as National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), which he attributed to health-related reasons. However, his aides insist the move was precautionary and not indicative of any severe medical condition.
