Suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists have reportedly set ablaze a primary school and a secondary school in Kautikari village, Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State.
The attack comes barely weeks after pupils of Mussa Primary and Junior Secondary School in Askira-Uba were abducted and remained unaccounted for nearly a month after the incident.
Security sources said the insurgents stormed the community at about 7 p.m. on Saturday, causing residents to flee into nearby bushes for safety.
“No casualty has been recorded so far, but residents abandoned their homes and ran into the bush when the attackers arrived,” a security source said.

A resident of the community disclosed that although the village had suffered previous attacks by insurgents, public and private facilities were usually spared.
“The terrorists attacked this village months ago, but they did not destroy any property. I wonder why they decided to burn down the primary school and the day secondary school this time. Such attacks are unusual,” the resident said.
Efforts to obtain official confirmation from the Borno State Police Command were unsuccessful, as calls to the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, did not connect.
