President Bola Tinubu held a key phone discussion with U.S. President Joe Biden on Tuesday, addressing pivotal issues including regional security, global collaboration, and the push for African representation on the United Nations Security Council.
Grassroots Parrot gathered that Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, briefed State House Correspondents following the call, highlighting the leaders’ focus on strengthening Nigeria-U.S. relations and regional stability.
One notable point in their conversation involved the detention of Tigran Gambaryan, Binance’s Head of Finance Crime Compliance, currently held in Nigeria.

Ambassador Tuggar explained, “The call focused on cooperation between the two countries on law enforcement and the release of a key cryptocurrency exchange suspect.
“Tinubu and Biden discussed shared law enforcement objectives and the potential for Gambaryan’s release, underscoring Nigeria’s collaboration with the U.S. on international financial crime compliance.
The call also touched on the broader topic of African inclusion in global governance, with both presidents discussing Africa’s aspiration for permanent representation on the UN Security Council.
President Tinubu expressed appreciation for U.S. support in African-led security initiatives, particularly in West Africa, where the region faces significant security challenges.
