The Kogi state governor, Ahmed Ododo has issued a resolute pledge to ensure the safe return of abducted students of Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTEC), Osara, Okene, assuring their families and the public that every effort is being made to rescue them alive.
The students were abducted late Thursday night by suspected bandits who launched a brazen attack on the institution, abducting several students.

Eyewitnesses recounted the harrowing moment when the assailants stormed the university premises around 9 p.m., catching students off guard as they prepared for their upcoming exams. In response to the distressing incident, the state government swiftly activated its security apparatus to address the situation.
Kingsley Femi Fanwo, the Commissioner for Information and Communications, conveyed the government’s stance, emphasizing that they were fully committed to ensuring the safe return of the students.
Security forces as well as local hunters who possess intimate knowledge of the terrain, have been mobilized to pursue the kidnappers.

Despite the challenging circumstances, the government remains resolute, vowing not to yield to acts of terrorism.
Governor Ododo personally vow to overseen the response efforts, directing security agencies to intensify patrols around all tertiary institutions in the state to prevent further incidents.
Addressing concerns over the missing students, the government assured the public that every resource available would be utilized to ensure their safe rescue and swift reunion with their families.
