A non-profit organization, Makarfi Endowment Education Trust Fund (METEF) has offered different form of assistance to over 300 students in the Makarfi Local Government Area of Kaduna State in advancing their education .

In a recent visit to key stakeholders in the state, METEF Chairman Alhaji Mahmud Bako Gazara unveiled the remarkable achievements of the organisation in supporting educational pursuits of the people.

Gazara revealed that METEF had provided assistance to over 300 vulnerable students who were enrolled at Kaduna State University and Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic Zaria, helping them cover their tuition and registration fees.

He stated that the students had encountered financial difficulties exacerbated by registration fee hikes implemented by the previous administration.

In addition to financial aid, Alhaji Gazara further explained that METEF recognized and honoured seven professors from Makarfi town who have attained remarkable success in their academic careers, while serving as role models for future generations.

Highlighting Makarfi’s rich educational heritage, Alhaji Mahmud Gazara underscored METEF’s steadfast commitment to preserving this legacy for the benefit of the future generations.

On his part, METEF Secretary, Alhaji Sama’ila Aliyu outlined the organization’s multifaceted objectives, which include providing scholarships, imparting skills through training programs, and offering guidance and counseling sessions to Makarfi students.

However, major challenges facing the students as identified by METEF was the absence of a Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) centers in Makarfi Local Government Area, necessitating students to travel as far as Zaria for UTME exams and also many of the students lack computer literacy, posing setbacks to their academic progress.
