Kano NSCDC Deploys 1,384 Officers For Easter Celebration

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC, Kano State Command, on Thursday deployed 1,384 operatives across churches as well as strategic locations.

The move, according to a statement by SC Ibrahim Abdullahi, the NSCDC’s spokesman in Kano, is to ensure peaceful and hitch-free Good Friday and Easter Monday festivities.

The statement quoted Mohammed Falala, “The State Commandant, NSCDC Kano Command, as saying that the personnel were drawn from the various departments of the command.

According to him, they are to complement the effort of those at the divisional offices in providing adequate security during and after the Easter celebrations.

“The departments include Operation Department, Critical National Assets Protection Department, Armed Squad and Anti Vandalism Units,” Abdullahi added.

Grassroots Parrot reports that on Thursday, the Federal Government declared Friday, March 29, and Monday, April 1, 2024, as public holidays for Christians in the country to celebrate Good Friday and Easter Monday, respectively.
