Justice Darius Khobo of the Kaduna State High Court has adjourned the bail hearing of former Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, to the first week of June 2026.
El-Rufai is standing trial on an amended nine-count charge filed by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), bordering on alleged fraud and abuse of office.
He had appeared before the court last week for the hearing of his bail application, which was earlier scheduled for ruling on April 21, 2026.
The former governor had previously been granted bail in a separate corruption case before the Federal High Court in Kaduna, with Justice Rilwanu Aikawa setting bail at ₦200 million and imposing conditions restricting public comments and requiring regular court appearances.
Reacting to the latest adjournment, El-Rufai’s counsel, Ukpon Akpan, expressed dissatisfaction, describing the repeated delays as politically motivated.
