Residents of Unguwar Tudun Yola in Gwale Local Government Area of Kano State have been thrown into mourning after two co-wives were gruesomely murdered by unknown assailants in a late-night attack.
The victims, both wives of one Alhaji Ashiru Shu’aibu, were killed when the attackers invaded their home around midnight on Monday. One of the bodies was burnt by the intruders, adding to the horror of the incident.
Speaking with Freedom Radio Nigeria on Friday, a visibly devastated Shu’aibu recounted the shocking incident, saying the assailants forcefully entered the house while the family was asleep.

“They entered our house at night, killed my wives and then set one of the bodies on fire. I still don’t know why they carried out this wicked act,” he lamented.
The spokesperson of the Kano State Police Command, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirmed the attack, saying a full investigation is underway to uncover those responsible and the motive behind the killings.
He assured residents that the police are committed to bringing the perpetrators to justice.
