The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested three suspected members of a child-trafficking syndicate and rescued 17 children who were allegedly being prepared for transportation to Abuja and other parts of the country.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, and made available to journalists on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the children—who are of various ages—were rescued during a swift operation carried out beneath the Danmagaji Flyover in Zaria following credible intelligence.

“On 12th November, 2025, at about 1600hrs, following credible intelligence on the suspicious movement of children under the Danmagaji Flyover in Zaria, detectives from Danmagaji Division swiftly swung into action.
Their prompt response led to the rescue of 17 children of various ages who were allegedly being prepared for trafficking to Abuja and other parts of the country and beyond,” DSP Hassan stated.
Three suspects identified as Musa Shuaibu, 21, from Funtua in Katsina State; Sani Mamman, 23, from Ingawa, Katsina State; and Mubarak Ismail, 20, from Unguwa Uku in Kano State, were arrested at the scene.

The police PRO revealed that the suspects confessed to bringing the children from different locations and were in the process of moving them to Abuja and other destinations before they were intercepted.
He added that all 17 children are in good health and are currently under the care of the Police Command, which is working to locate and reunite them with their parents and guardians.
The police assured the public that investigations are ongoing and vowed to dismantle all trafficking networks operating within and around the state.
