A woman identified as Charity Olotu Fasasi, a mother of four, has narrowly escaped death after she was allegedly beaten into a coma by her husband, David Fasasi Azeez, following a disagreement over family planning methods.

Grassroots Parrot learned that the disturbing incident occurred last Friday night in Adefemi, Ushafa, a community under the Bwari Area Council of the FCT, leaving Charity critically injured and battling for her life at the Ushafa Community Health Centre.

Eyewitnesses disclosed that the victim was found lying helpless in a pool of blood after her husband fled the scene. She was immediately rushed to the hospital by concerned neighbours, where she reportedly remained unconscious for several days before regaining stability.

Sources revealed that the dispute began after the family planning method adopted by Charity failed, leading to another pregnancy. Enraged, her husband allegedly gave her ₦5,000 to terminate the pregnancy, which later resulted in heavy bleeding.

The situation spiraled out of control when David began blaming his wife for the complications and allegedly subjected her to severe physical assault. After the brutal beating, he reportedly abandoned her at home before fleeing.

A resident who witnessed the aftermath confirmed that it was the swift intervention of neighbors that saved the victim’s life.

At the time of filing this report, David Fasasi Azeez is said to be on the run, while community members are calling on security agencies to ensure his immediate arrest and prosecution.
