Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has announced plans to personally accompany pilgrims from the state to the 2025 Hajj in Saudi Arabia, aiming to ensure the exercise is well-organized, spiritually uplifting, and conducted with dignity.
Speaking during a Hajj orientation program held in Kano, Governor Yusuf described the annual pilgrimage as a sacred obligation that demands proper planning, discipline, and spiritual focus.
The governor, speaking through his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, emphasized his commitment to providing leadership and support throughout the exercise.

“Hajj is not an ordinary journey—it is a sacred religious duty. I will personally lead our pilgrims to provide guidance and ensure the experience is smooth, organized, and spiritually rewarding,” Governor Yusuf said.
To facilitate this, the governor announced the deployment of additional support systems to assist Kano pilgrims from the moment of departure in Nigeria to their return from the holy land. He stated that dedicated personnel would be on the ground at all key stages of the pilgrimage.
“We’ve assembled special teams that will assist our pilgrims from the airport to their accommodation and throughout the entire Hajj period. Our mission is to deliver the most seamless and secure pilgrimage in the history of Kano State,” he added.
Governor Yusuf also used the occasion to urge discipline and decorum among the pilgrims, especially the youth and women. He called on them to uphold the cultural and religious values Kano State is known for.
“I call on our youth to shun any actions that could tarnish our image. And to our women, remember the honor and modesty Kano women are known for—carry yourselves with pride and reflect our values with dignity,” he advised.
The governor issued a stern warning against drug use and immoral behavior, describing such acts as violations of Islamic principles and a dishonor to the essence of the Hajj pilgrimage.
