The Kano State House of Assembly has explained the reason for the conspicuous missing of the Bichi Emirate from the three second-class Emirates it created on Tuesday.
Grassroots Parrot had reported how the assembly passed the into law the bill that established the three second-class Emirates including Gaya, Karaye and Rano.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, however, assented the law on Tuesday evening, saying that the law would bridge the gap between the grassroots abd the government.
He also assured to name Emirs of the second-class Emirates in due course.
Grassroots Parrot observed that Bichi Emirate which was among the additional four emirates created by former governor Abdullahi Ganduje and eventually scraped by Gov. Yusuf, was missing on the list of the resurfaced Emirates.
Majority Leader and member representing the Dala Constituency in Kano Assembly, Lawan Hussaini, however commented on the rationale behind the missing Bichi Emirate on Tuesday evening.
Hussaini, who appeared on Channels TV, said historically, Bichi was never be part of the Emirate councils in Kano.
According to him, the essence for its creation was best known to the then Ganduje’s administration, hence the reason for its exclusion in the second-class Emirates law.
Asked if the people of Bichi would be happy with the government on this development, the majority leader, said they may have mixed feelings about it but they understand history and they know the truth.
