Veteran Nollywood actor and former Oyo State Governor of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Otunba Ayobami Mudashir Olabiyi, widely known as “Bobo B,” has passed away. The beloved actor reportedly died in Ibadan after a brief illness.

Olabiyi, who was also the current National Secretary of TAMPAN, was a prominent figure in the Nigerian film industry, particularly in the Yoruba film sector, where he made significant contributions. His death has left a deep void within Nollywood.

Grassroots Parrot gathered that the versatile actor, who had been scheduled to participate in a movie production in Oyo State last month, was unable to attend due to his deteriorating health. He was later admitted to the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan, where he passed away.

The Oyo State Governor of TAMPAN, Bose Akinola, announced the sad news in a statement, expressing condolences on behalf of the association: “I have the directive of the Oyo State TAMPAN governor, Her Excellency Yeye Bose Akinola, to announce the death of our TAMPAN National General Secretary, Chief Alhaji Musadshir Ayobami Olabiyi ‘Bobo B.’ May God give his family and the entire TAMPAN members globally the fortitude to bear the loss.”

Tributes have since been pouring in from colleagues and friends in the industry.

Olabiyi’s impact on Nollywood as both an actor and a leader in TAMPAN will not be forgotten. He leaves behind a legacy of dedication, talent, and leadership that will be remembered by his colleagues, fans, and the many lives he touched.
