Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA, in collaboration with operatives of the C-Watch security outfit, have arrested a young female suspect in possession of three loaded magazines and military gear in Malumfashi town, Katsina State.
The arrest occurred at about 1:00 a.m. on Monday, August 4, during a routine checkpoint operation. According to security sources, the woman was attempting to cross out of the town under suspicious circumstances when she was intercepted by the joint security team.
A thorough search of her bag revealed three loaded ammunition magazines, a full set of military uniforms, including trousers and a tactical jacket, as well as multiple communication devices suspected to be used for covert operations.
The discovery has raised serious concerns among security agencies, suggesting the possibility of terrorist logistical activities in the area. A senior security source revealed that the suspect is currently in custody and undergoing intensive interrogation.

“The nature of the items found in her possession, especially the military gear and loaded magazines, strongly indicates an attempt to supply terrorist elements operating in the region,” the source said.
While the identity of the suspect has not been officially disclosed, intelligence reports suggest she may be part of a wider syndicate responsible for the distribution of arms and supplies to armed groups within the northwestern region.
The arrest is seen as a significant breakthrough in the ongoing counter-terrorism efforts in Katsina and surrounding states. Security forces have since intensified surveillance and investigations to uncover the suspect’s network and possible collaborators.
Residents of Malumfashi and neighboring communities have been urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movements or persons to the appropriate authorities.
