The lifeless body of a Police Inspector, identified as Haruna Mohammed, was discovered in a hotel room in Ogun State, sparking a police investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
Sources revealed that Inspector Mohammed, who was attached to the Ishashi Police Division in Lagos State, checked into the Super G Royal Hotel, located at Anthony Uzum Estate, Oyeyemi Akute, around 1:00 am on Saturday with an unidentified woman.
The tragic discovery was made by the hotel manager, Deborah Adejobi, at about 8:52 am. According to reports, the manager found the room unlocked and upon checking inside, she saw the officer lying lifeless on the bed, while his female companion was nowhere to be found.

A police memo detailing the situation report stated that the hotel owner, Abiodun Olagunju, reported the incident to the authorities. It was also noted that the missing woman had visited the hotel reception earlier, around 6:00 am, to request table water before vanishing without a trace.
Following the distressing discovery, the deceased’s body was removed and deposited at Life Channel Mortuary in Olambe.
Confirming the incident, Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, stated: “At first, it was the uniform found in his bag, so it was not possible to say he was a police officer. There was no identification card on him or his belongings. But further investigation revealed that the deceased was an Inspector of Police serving with the Ishashi division in Lagos Command. The DPO has been contacted and his body identified.”

Authorities have since launched a manhunt for the fleeing woman, while investigations continue to unravel the mystery behind the officer’s untimely death.
The police are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward as they work to determine the cause of death and locate the missing woman.
