Hajia Aisha Ahmed Kaita, the Northwest Zonal Women Leader of New Nigerian Peoples Party, (NNPP) on Tuesday resigned from her position.
Hajiya Kaita described her resignation as voluntary, citing unfair treatment of her followers barely ten months into the tenure of the present NNPP administration in Kano State.
Grassroots Parrot reports that the party only won governorship election in Kano and the winning was even subjected to exhaustive litigation before the legal battle was concluded at the Supreme Court in January 12, 2024.
However, the NNPP Women Leader, while announcing her resignation at a press briefing on Tuesday, said she would still remain active as a member of the ruling party in Kano.

She said the resignation was necessary, lamenting that since the formation of NNPP government in Kano State, her followers that supported the electoral victory of the governor Abba Kabir Yusuf-led government have been neglected.
“My followers have not been carried along in terms of appointment or consultation.” She added.
She noted that she contacted the national leader of the party, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso about her move but she assured him that she will still remain an active member of the party.

According to her, “Yesterday, I informed the national leader of NNPP and Kwankwasiyya movement, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of my intention to step down from my position as Northwest Zonal Women leader.
“He asked me if there was a problem for my action but I told him I am still a member of the party but I need to step down from Zonal Women leader position.
‘’I am a staunch supporter of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and I was together with him in APC, PDP and now NNPP.’’ She told newsmen.
