The Kano State Police Command has arrested two notorious thugs identified as Mohammed Isma’il, popularly known as Linga, and his accomplice, Sani Abdulsalam, also called Guchi, for brandishing dangerous weapons in viral social media videos.
Police spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Wednesday, saying the suspects were apprehended in an intelligence-led operation at Dala Quarters, where they had been mobilizing youths and inciting violence.
“During the arrest, a sword and two clubs were recovered from the suspects. These individuals have been recruiting youths in their neighborhoods while posting videos on TikTok and Facebook, where they flaunted weapons and threatened peace in the community,” Kiyawa stated.

“Anyone found posting videos of themselves with weapons or engaging in acts of thuggery will be arrested and prosecuted to the full extent of the law,” the CP declared.
The police further appealed to parents and guardians to caution their children against criminal activities, while commending residents for the intelligence that led to the arrest.
“We appreciate the cooperation of the public in providing credible information. Citizens should continue to report suspicious activities through our emergency hotlines,” the statement added.
