The Judicial Commission of Inquiry on political violence and missing persons set up by Kano State government will hold its inaugural sitting on Monday, May 6, 2024.
Grassroots Parrot reports that the commission was recently set up by Governor Abba Kabiru Yusuf to investigate the causes of political violence and missing persons from 2015 to 2023.
The current National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress APC, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje was the Kano State governor during the period under review.
A statement issued by the Secretary of the Commission, Alh. Mahmoud Bello Bari and made available to newsmen on Saturday, said that the session will take place at Kano High Court no.13 Miller road, by 10am prompt.

“Recalled that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf had inaugurated the two Commissions of Inquiry in April, 2024 to investigate instances of political violence and missing persons from 2015 to 2023.
“Justice Zuwaira Yusuf of Kano High Court along with other distinguished personalities were appointed as Chairperson and members of the Commission.
“At the inaugural speech, Governor Yusuf reaffirmed his administration resolve to hold anyone accountable for the alleged offence.
“He also directed the Commission members to remain steadfast in serving the people of the state by ensuring that justice prevail.
“The Governor however, made clear that the move was not meant to witch hunt anybody, but a response to the mandate given to him by the good people of Kano state.” Bari said.
