Kano State Government, on Thursday, inaugurated an 11-member committee to investigate the alleged financial Mismanagement and other staff claims at Kano Capital School.
During the inauguration, the State Commissioner of Education, Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa said the move was to address the long-existing problems that affect the smooth operation of the school for over two years.
A statement issued by spokesperson of the Ministry Balarabe Abdullahi Kiru, on Thursday, quoted the Commissioner as revealing that the mandate of the committee to include the review of the financial records, budgets and expenditures of the school for the past two years.
The statement added that the committee would analyze teacher recruitment and salary payment procedures to identify inefficiency and conduct a thorough audit of the school’s financial records.
Kiru said the committee was also mandated to maintain open communication with relevant stakeholders and submit a comprehensive report with actionable recommendations at the end of the assigned timeline.
Members of the committee include the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education Hajiya Kubra Imam as Chairperson, Direçtor Monitoring and Evaluation Yusha’u Hamza Kafinciri, Director Educational Support Services Malam Hashim M. Tuku, Deputy Director Budget Malam Bashir and Former Executive Secretary Kano State Senior Secondary Schools Management Board Malam Muhd Idris among others.
Alhaji Umar Doguwa therefore urged the committee members to work diligently to achieve the desired results.
Responding, the Chairperson of the committee Hajiya Kubra Imam assured the Commissioner of their commitment to work as a team to justify the confidence reposed in them.
