Governor, Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State on Thursday lost his eldest son, Abdulwahab Umar Namadi in auto crash.
This happened a day after the governor lost his mother, Hajiya Maryam Namadi Umar on Wednesday. Hajiya Maryam was buried on the same day according to Islamic rites.
Grassroots Parrot gathered that the accident occurred around 3 pm on Thursday at Agura village, less than three kilometres to Kafin Hausa town, the governor’s hometown.
According to report, Abdulwahab and his friend were on their way to Kafin Hausa from Dutse, the State capital, when the accident occurred.
Their mission to the community was to continue to receive condolences from sympathisers over the death of Abdulwahab’s paternal grandmother before the tragedy struck.
The chief press secretary to the state governor, Comrade Muhammad Hamisu Gumel, confirmed the tragic incident in a statement issued and made available to newsmen on Thursday evening.

He said: “To Allah belongs that which He has taken, and to Him belongs that which He has given, and everything has an appointed time with Him.
“With a heavy heart and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, His Excellency Mallam Umar Namadi, Governor of Jigawa State, announces the passing of yet another member of his family; his dear son Abdulwahab Umar Namadi.
“A 24 year old, late Abdulwahab is survived by his parents, brothers and sisters.
“The corpse of Abdulwahab was taken to the House of Kafin Hausa chief Imam, Imam Abdulwahab Hassan for burial in according to Islamic rites,” the CPS stated.
The statement did not give further details on how the accident occurred and actual number of causality figure.
It was also gathered that governor Namadi is currently on an official trip to China where he is engaging in efforts to foster economic ties and attract investments to Jigawa State.
