How Kannywood Veteran, Saratu Gidado, Found Dead

Saratu Gidado

A veteran actress in Kannywood – the Hausa-language film industry – Saratu Gidado, popularly known as Daso, is dead.

Daso’s relatives announced her death on Tuesday, saying that the actress was found dead in the morning.

The relatives of the actress said she was found dead after she had gone back to sleep after the early-morning Muslim breakfast for those observing the Ramadan fasting.

Daso who died at the age of 56 was born in Kano. She was particularly known for the comical roles she played as an aggressive and mischievous woman.

She made her debut in 2000 in a movie titled Linzami Da Wuta, produced by Sarauniya Movies.

Other hits that led to the late actress’s stardom include Nagari, Gidauniya, Mashi, and Sansani followed.
