The Kano State Hisbah Board has arrested nine young persons for allegedly engaging in prostitution, popularly known as “Good Evening Girls,” during a late-night operation across the state capital.
The Board’s Deputy Commander-General, Dr. Mujahideen Aminuddeen, disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday, December 27, 2025, saying the suspects were apprehended during a special end-of-year enforcement exercise carried out on Friday night.
According to him, eight females and one male were arrested while posing as “Good Evening Girls” along major streets in the Kano metropolis.
“The board has, during its end-of-the-year special operation, stormed some major streets in the metropolis, and our personnel were lucky to apprehend eight young girls and a boy who posed as ‘Good Evening Girls,’” Aminuddeen said.

He explained that the girls allegedly solicit wealthy individuals who take them to preferred locations for entertainment in exchange for money.
“These young girls are usually picked by wealthy individuals who take them to places they want, have fun with them and give them money ranging from ₦5,000 to ₦30,000,” he added.
Aminuddeen said the suspects, aged between 15 and 20, reportedly confessed to having been involved in prostitution for some time.
The operation covered several locations, including Zoo Road, Banana Zoo Road, Ahmadu Bello Way, Lamido Crescent, Tukur Road, Lodge Road, Nassarawa Hospital Road, Magajin Rumfa Road, Sultan Road (Nassarawa), and Audu Bako Way.

The Deputy Commander-General stressed that the Hisbah Board would sustain raids in identified hotspots to apprehend individuals violating Shari’a law in the state.
He also called on parents and guardians to pay closer attention to the moral upbringing of their children, especially young girls, as a way of curbing prostitution and other social vices.
Aminuddeen added that ongoing investigations were underway and that the suspects would be charged to court for appropriate prosecution once investigations are concluded.
