Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has praised President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, emphasizing his commitment to alleviating economic hardship and strengthening Nigeria’s institutions through far-reaching reforms.

Ganduje made these remarks at the inauguration of the APC’s 305-member National Campaign Council in Akure, Ondo State, ahead of the state’s November 16 governorship election.

Ganduje emphasized that President Tinubu’s reforms are transforming the nation’s economic landscape, calling for heightened support for Tinubu, particularly in the South West, where the President hails from.

He stated, “President Bola Tinubu is doing a good job for this country. He has introduced reforms in order to make our institutions strong for the social and economic development of this country. We respect and honour him.”

The APC chairman urged the newly appointed campaign council members, led by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to mobilize and secure a decisive victory in Ondo State.

“Ondo State will have to maintain this state for APC through democratic means,” Ganduje said, urging the council to demonstrate the South West’s unified support for Tinubu.

Using a metaphor to underscore his point, Ganduje added, “How can your trousers be different from your agbada? It’s not attractive. It is not fashionable.” He encouraged APC members to mobilize for the Ondo election to ensure a victory that would reflect the South West’s alignment with the President’s vision.

Governor Sanwo-Olu echoed Ganduje’s sentiments, committing to a campaign focused on key issues rather than sentiments or rhetoric.

He highlighted the accomplishments of Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who is also the APC candidate in the upcoming election, noting that Aiyedatiwa’s track record has laid a solid foundation for the campaign.

Sanwo-Olu assured Ondo citizens of further development under APC leadership, saying, “I want to assure the citizens of Ondo State that they have not seen anything yet; they will still enjoy more dividends of democracy.”
