The Federal Government has officially commenced the payment of the N77,000 monthly allowance to members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), following months of anticipation and delay.
Some corps members confirmed the payment to newsmen on Wednesday, stating that the increased allowance had begun to be disbursed.
Several corps members also shared screenshots of the credited allowance.
While many are celebrating the long-awaited increase, some corps members are still awaiting their alerts, hoping for a swift completion of the disbursement process.

The announcement of the pay increase by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had initially sparked excitement among corps members nationwide.
However, disappointment soon followed as the implementation faced prolonged delays.
For nearly six months after the announcement, serving corps members continued receiving the previous N33,000 allowance, introduced in 2020 under former President Muhammadu Buhari.
